Orchestra's Conductor Masterclass
Supporting authentic growth in orchestral conducting
The idea behind this project was simple: to create a space where aspiring conductors can learn in a professional, yet relaxed and honest environment. A place where gestures matter, but understanding matters more. Where feedback comes not only from teachers, but also from the musicians themselves — those who experience the conductor’s work most directly.
The first edition of the Masterclass took place in May 2025 in Bucharest, immediately after the final concert of the Orchestra’s Conductor Competition. Following its success and the participants’ enthusiastic feedback, a second edition was developed in Brașov for September 2025, expanding the focus to include both conducting technique and in-depth score analysis.
This project is not built on prestige or competition, but on curiosity, clarity, and the joy of making music together. We believe that young conductors deserve time to explore, to observe, and to ask questions — without the pressure to prove themselves constantly.
Participants benefit not only from podium experience, but also from structured analysis methods, direct contact with professional musicians, and the chance to develop a personal, confident, and respectful approach to the score and to the ensemble.
We hope this initiative continues to grow, slowly and naturally, guided by the needs of those it serves: the next generation of conductors.
