Communication with musicians and ensembles
Effective rehearsal decisions
Direct and constructive feedback
Active participants are invited to attend all sessions. Observing other conductors and listening to the feedback they receive are essential parts of the learning process.
The Musicians’ Perspective
The musicians are active partners in the learning process.
You receive feedback from those working directly with you, helping you understand how your gestures, communication and rehearsal decisions are experienced from within the ensemble.
The musicians also select the conductors who advance to the next stages.
A learning process shaped by both the professor and the orchestra.
Teaching Approach
The programme combines practical conducting with principles rooted in the school of Sergiu Celibidache.
Participants are also introduced to the Barform analytical method, developed by Romanian conductor and teacher Constantin Bugeanu on the basis of Alfred Lorenz’s studies of musical form. The method connects musical structure, interpretation and gesture in a clear and practical way.
Repertoire
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Ottorino Respighi

Its principal musicians work with all active participants during the quintet sessions, while the full orchestra works with the 12 conductors selected for the orchestra phase and chooses the four conductors who lead the final stage.
