Some words about Mr. Cristian Oroșanu
Already an experienced conductor, with a career of more than 30 years, Cristian’s professional reputation determined the presence on major international stages, with famous ensembles like the Bucharest National Radio Orchestra, Tonhalle Zurich, the BBC Scottish Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, the Bordeaux-Aquitaine National Orchestra, or the Philharmonic Orchestras in Bucharest, Brussels, Iasi, Strasbourg, Cluj, Porto, etc. Cristian’s career has harmoniously combined the activity of guest conductor with the involvement on fixed positions at the National Operas in Bucharest, Iasi and Cluj, at the Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra or Deutsche Symphony Orchestra Berlin.
Since several years Cristian discovered his pedagogical talent as well, following techniques and philosophies of maestros Constantin Bugeanu and Sergiu Celibidache. Students from all over the world are coming to him and going back happy and self confident. Orosanu's pedagogic activity as an orchestra professor began in 1999 at the High Academy of Music in Cluj, where he taught 250 students. Between 1999 and 2002 he performed many concerts across Romania and abroad with his three student orchestras. In 2010 he began teaching orchestra conducting at the High Academy of Music in Iasi.
Orosanu leaded also very successful conducting masterclasses and here we can read some feedback from past participants:
“No amount of words can describe how wonderful this masterclass is. Thanks to Maestro Orosanu, I came to realise my strengths and weaknesses. A place to make good friends and advance your skills in a stress free environment. I became more confident thanks to the advice from the orchestra musicians. They are indeed wonderful and work in a professional way. Overall an amazing experience! “
Joey Mendessohn
“Maestro Orosanu gives very valuable advice, and can quickly solve any technical problem. He is a cheerful man who creates an atmosphere of trust and professional friendship.”
Daniel Salacinski
“A nice atmosphere with no time-pressure, led by a very dedicated teacher! Maestro Orosanu has a bag full of very useful tips for every student. Great cooperation from all the musicians, which were involved in succeeding this Masterclass! Bravo!”
Martijn Pepels
“It was a great experience for me attending this course. Me and also other students did get essential advice from Maestro Orosanu of what we should work on to be better conductors. Also, one of the things I liked very much is introduction to Bar form analysis, which is an extremely efficient way of score studying. Thanks to Maestro Orosanu I realised many things I was doing wrong, and ways to make them better, and also I was more aware of things I was good at, so I got much more confident with them.”
Radan Jovanovic
“Very efficient and helpful masterclass with the wonderful conductor and teacher Cristian Orosanu! I was very pleased to gain invaluable experience.”
Aliaksei Dambrouski
“I was deeply impressed by maestro Orosanu, who seemed to open doors to further development for every participant, far beyond this very intense week. I had great fun working with extraordinary musicians! Very pleasant, but efficient atmosphere created by this gifted teacher and conductor ... .I hope to be back soon to learn more.”
Karin Hendel
“It was a very exciting experience. From basic patterns to practical rehearsals with the orchestra, I could learn all of the important things about conducting. I recommend his masterclass to anyone – beginner, student and also professional conductor. Many thanks to Maestro Cristian Orosanu!”
